Welcome to the world of RFIC testing!  Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits (RFICs) are used in wireless devices such as cellphones, satellite receivers, and wireless modems.  All of these components are tested in a high volume factory setting before they are sent to the consumer.  Automated test equipment (like the RI7100A) are needed to run hundreds of tests.  Testing the RFICs are often as complicated and research intensive as designing the chip in the first place.
