A user might accidentally close vital network service windows, like "telnet" (see Figure 1). To avoid this, the task can be hidden from the task bar to prevent the user from accidentally closing. These steps assume ArcaOS, but a similar steps are available with eCS and OS/2.

- Select the title of the target window in the Current filters section and choose Remove. "Telnetd.exe" in this example. (See Figure 4)

- Check Arcvhive Desktop once after restart and choose OK. Continue closing applications if prompted and allow the desktop to restart. (Figure 6)

- If the desktop is running, reboot the EPC.
- While first booting, after the BIOS screen, while the a white blob appears with OS/2 in the upper left corner, hold ALT key on the keyboard and press F1 key (ALT+F1) to enter the Recovery Choices screen. (See Figure 1)
- Choose 1 to restore the most recent Archive and continue booting. (See Figure 2) Please note that any recent configuration changes to the Desktop may be lost when recovering the archive.
