Purpose: To describe the RIK0092A Fixture Step Attenuator and its use.



The RIK0092A Fixture Step Attenuator is a high bandwidth attenuator programmable to four seperate attenuation settings. Settings are programmable between 0dB and 36dB (3dB - 39dB actual loss @ 100KHz). Test data shows that it has a usable bandwidth exceeding 9GHz (plot markers are at 6GHz and 9GHz).

RF Attenuator Control Programming:

1. When writing to a Smart Carrier Cbit the format is of S#XXXX
S = S, # = Module number being written to, X = 1, X, or 0.
0 = closed (0V) and 1 = open (5.0V)
Bit position = S# DS1 DS2 DS3 DS4




Fixture requirements:
1. Smart Carrier (RIK0014A or B (12RF) or Later (20 RF).
2. Press in connector strips ( 16 pin ) installed at desired module locations ( M1 - M10).
3. Bench Top DC Voltage Requirements: +5V / -5V
