Detailed Maintenance Schedule information and procedures are in the Cassini Reference Guide, CH 3: Care & Maintenance. The table below includes preventive maintenance that should be performed at a recommended time period or "as needed" based on use.
Recommended Preventive Maintenance Schedule
Item to Inspect | Time Period | As Needed | Time to Complete | Role | Required Tools | Notify RI Support |
Socket | Daily | Mfg. Suggestion | 1-2 min | Operator | Standard Tools, Magnifier
Fixture Inserts/Launches | Daily | 1000 DIB Installs | 1 min | Operator | Connector Cleaner (lube free)
Device Interface Board (DIB) | Monthly | >10% Yield Change | 5 min | Maintenance | Standard Tools, Voltmeter, Magnifier
Test Head TIM Blocks | Monthly | 1000 Fixture Docks | 2 min | Operator | Connector Cleaner (lube free), Compressed Air
Docking Hardware | Monthly | 1000 Docks | 1 min | Operator | None (Eyes) | If wear is found |
Diagnose/Verify | Monthly | Yield Drops | 5-30 min | Maintenance | Diagnostic Kit | On Failure |
Calibrate stand alone TIMs | Yearly | TIM Repair | 5-30 min | Maintenance | Diag & Calibration Kit
Calibrate RF System | Yearly | TIM Exchange | 2-6 hours | Maintenance | Diag & Calibration Kit | Yes |
Calibrate Fixture | Never | Modification | Varies | Developer | Calibration Kit |
To inspect the DIB, visually Device Interface Board for clean DC pads and RF launches and look for damaged components. Reference the design documentation for expected performance. (Optional, develop Diagnostics for this DIB.)
To inspect Test Head TIM Blocks, follow the procedure to remove the Fixture and visually inspect the RF launches with a Magnifier to look for bend pins. Use Connector Cleaner without lubrication and compressed air to clear any debris.
To inspect Fixture Inserts/Launches, remove the Device Interface Board board visually Device Interface Board for clean DC pads and RF launches.
To calibrate the Fixture; normally DO NOT CALIBRATE FIXTURE. This step should only be done if the Fixture changes unless there is a required reason to calibrate at every setup; possible with high power devices with poor match. Follow the Fixture Calibration procedure.
To inspect docking hardware, undock the Fixture and look for wear.
To Diagnose/Verify the tester, latch the Diag/Cal Fixture and follow the Diagnose procedure.
To Calibrate TIMs, latch the Diag/Cal Fixture and follow the Calibration procedure that includes running Diagnostics first.
To Calibrate RF System, latch the Diag/Cal Fixture and follow the Calibration procedure that includes running Diagnostics first.
