Hide details for Smart Carrier Module Control Lines (DS1 - DS4):Smart Carrier Module Control Lines (DS1 - DS4):
    1. When writing to a Smart Carrier module control line the format is of S#10X1
    S = S, # = Module number being written to, X = 1, X, or 0.
    Bit position = S# DS1 DS2 DS3 DS4
    Ex. The string S6XX01 would drive DS3 low ( 0.0V ) and DS4 high (3.8V) on the fixture module placed at the physical location of M6 on the smart carrier.

    2. When writing to a standard Cbit ( found on the fixture carrier board ) the format is of CXY
    C = C, X = control bit used, Y = 1 or 0.

    Ex . C20 Sets the standard Cbit#2 low. To combine this with a Smart Carrier control string, add it to the front of the overall string. The string C20S6XX01 sets standard Cbit#2 low, sets DS3 low, and sets DS4 high on the fixture module found at M6.

Foot Notes:
  1. Earlier versions of the Smart Carrier were based on the Y0002AC1 board. In these fixtures only three standard cbits are available( Cbits 1 - 3 ).
  2. Boards based on the Y0002AC1 do not have 3.3V available. Modules requiring 3.3V will not work on this carrier.
  3. Smart Carriers based on the Y0002AC1 have postions marked M1 - M4 and M13 - M16. The switch code prefix for positons M14 - M16 are S5 - S8.
  4. Not all modules will work in the M11-M13 positions of the Matrix fixture carrier. Refer to the factory for specific information requests.

    The Fixture MUX provides for DC switching of fixture resources to the fixture pogo interface. It can be used as either a 1X32 or a 2X16 mux depending on how the fixture resources are attached.

    Top View:

    Fixture Configuration Steps:

    To add this module to a fixture the following needs to be done.
      1. Perform a system start up. If the fixture SN has been recorded to the software fixture it will activate automatically. Make sure that the fixture is in the fixture directory under RIAPPS. If it does not automatically activate under these conditions do the following. * Perform a RMBC on the highlighted fixture. * Choose "Get Serial Number" from the pull down menu.
      2. Make sure that the fixture SN has been captured and saved.
      3. Go into the "Equipment Pool" and then into the "Module Browser".
      4. Find the carrier type in the listing on the left hand side of the window and highlight it. Carrier numbers will be either Y0004VA1 or Y00065A1.
      5. Once you have highlighted the carrier number select '"Modules" from the window top menu. Then select "Add Module". When you do this a list will appear. Highlight "Y0005LA1" from the list and then click on "Select". You will be asked for the module position. Type in its location. For example if it is at M7 then type in "M7".
      6. Choose "Modules" from the top menu in the window and then "EE Save Modules". Answer "Yes" to the question.
      7. Choose "Node" from the top menu of the window and then "EE Save Node Info". Again answer "Yes" to the questions.
      8. Perform a system start up.
      9. If the module does not seem to work check to make sure the configuration was saved. Also check to make sure you did not choose M9 or M10 as placement of the module.

    Removing the Module:
    To move the module from one location on the carrier to another do the following.
      1. Deactivate the fixture and physically remove the module.
      2. Perform a system start up.
      3. Go into the "Equipment Pool" and then into the "Module Browser".
      4. Find the carrier type in the listing on the left hand side of the window and highlight it. Carrier numbers will be either Y0004VA1 or Y00065A1.
      5. In the right hand column of the window highlight the module being removed (M# Y0005LA1).
      6. Choose "Modules" from the top menu in the window and then "Remove Module".
      7. Again choose "Modules" from the top menu and then "EE Save Modules". Answer "Yes" to the questions.
      8. Perform a system start up.
    Moving the Module:
    To move the module from one location to another.
      1. Deactivate the fixture and then physically remove the module and place it into the new location. Make sure you did not choose M9 or M10 as the new location for the module.
      2. Perform a system start up
      3. Perform the steps outlined in "Removing the Module".
      4. Perform the steps outlined in "Fixture Configuration Steps".
      5. Perform a system start up.

    Notes:
    1. Control code is case sensitive.
    2. If more than one mux is resident in a fixture DO NOT combine code strings into one software fixture path definition. Ex. DutP1 Vmeas1 A5SW=2aA3SW=4b will not work. Ex. DutP1 Vmeas1 A5SW=2a and DutP4 Device Power 1 A3SW4b will work.
    3. When used in the 2X16 mode a command to switch 5a will also switch 5b.

    Fab#: Y0007RA1
    Description: AC Matrix, Any Pin to Any Pin

    The Fixture AC Matrix provides for DC and AC switching of fixture resources to the fixture pogo interface. Any one of 8 common pins or multiples thereof can be attached to any of 24 switched pins.

    Programming the 8X24 Mux:

    General Format: A#CX=Y where A# is "Action at Module Location #.
    CX = Common line Y (Header 1 at location 1-8)
    = Y is the X location (Header 2 or 3 at locations 1-12)

    Multiple Switch Settings:
    When more than one switch setting is required for a particular fixture path the format
    is as above with each setting seperated with a semicolon. Also the "A" in all subsequent settings
    from the are not included.

    For example if header 1 pin 1 (h1-1) is to be connected to header 2 pin 1 (h2-1) and header 1 pin 3 (h1-3) is to be connected to header 3 pin 4 (h3-4) the string as written will apear as

    A6C1=19;6C3=3
    .

    This is assuming that the module is sitting in the M6 carrier position.

    Connecting two or more common pins:
    When it is required to connect common pins together use the above format where "Y" is the same
    value.

    For example if h1-1 and h1-4 are to be connected together the switch string would be
    A6C1=10;6C4=10.

    This again is assuming that the module is sitting in the M6 carrier position.

    Isolation:
    In applications where isolation may be an issue the selection of header pins should be done in regard to the "Module Schematic Designation". This designation helps to identify the actual Mux IC pin location in relation to the next pin. Using the format as utilized in the table, Xn refers to the pin number on the IC. The dash number refers to which IC on the module is being switched (there are two on the module). For example X7-1 refers to pin 7 of the second IC on the module. Select pins that are at least seperated by one pin when isolation is of concern.

    Default Settings:
    When using the 8X24 mux it is good practice to set up an open default condition for all common pins. This will prevent insertion of a DUT into a potentially live socket. To do this:
      1. Create a path definition in the software fixture file.
      2. In the "Mode" field type in the word "default" in all lower case letters.
      3. In the "Switch" field type in A#C1=0;#C2=0;#C3=0;#C4=0;#C5=0;#C6=0;#C7=0;#C8=0. The "#" should denote the module location on the carrier board. This command will thus open all the common pins.
      4. In the test plan, place the corresponding path definition into the disconnect settings panel.
