A potential high failure risk in the RI8546C Device Power Test Instrument Module (TIM) affects relays causing the DB1-8 and DB9-16 resources to fail in the DutControl instrument.

URGENCY: High

SYMPTOM: Multiple diagnostics fail, not just diagnostics for the DutControl instrument. The diagnostics may fail for StaticDigital and PowerVI instruments because the Device Power TIM Cal block connects several resources together. The failed diagnostics for the other instruments are false, the instruments are still fully functional.

IDENTIFYING DEFECTIVE PARTS

Device Power TIMs are typically installed in T5, T9, and T10 locations. The TIM serial numbers with the potential high risk are as follows: RIPYGW80, RIR0CRG0, RIR1VSZ0, RIR2F7X0, RIR2KZY0, RIR2L1Y0, RIR4UN00, RIR4ZSM0, RIR6RA40, R1R6RCW0, RIRA5YC0, RIRCRNG0, RIRCRPT0, RIRFG5L0, RIRZC280, RIS63S20

Please check your testers to see if these serial numbers are in any of the testers. Note that TIMs may have been replaced with spares. Physically check any spare RI8546C TIMs that may be not currently installed.

Identify the TIM serial number by looking on the TIM Serial Label or from software as follows:
  1. From the main Cassini window, select System > Equip > Nodes to open the Equipment Pool window.
  2. In the Equipment Pool window, select "Testhead Inst T#", where # represents the T-location the TIM is installed.
  3. In the lower panel, highlight any line to activate the scroll bar, then scroll down until you find 'NodeID'. This is the serial number for the TIM in T#.
  4. Repeat steps 2-3 for each RI8546C Device Power TIM.
