User Apps associate a specific Short Cut, a Cassini application version, with a Test Exec. This allows an operator to select a released User App that has been prepared for that purpose. Corporate policies and workflow can be implemented to help guarantee a specific Test Exec is evaluated with a specific Short Cut version. Once a user Logon is performed and User Name and Password entered to grant an Operator role, the Apps button becomes inaccessible and only Short Cuts and User Apps with status set to "released" will be visible.



NOTE: Since the Cassini application is launched and a "startup" is automatically performed, the Fixture should NOT be docked to the Testhead while the Instruments are initialized. In rare situations, this could cause damage to the Fixture or DIB because the instruments are not in a known state prior to being initialized.

To Launch a User App:
  1. Prepare the DUTs with the Handler/Prober and prepare the DIB/Fixture/Softdock cables for the specific DUT. Avoid docking the Fixture until instructed unless required by the handler/prober.
  2. Choose Logon and enter User Name and Password for a user with Operator role or higher.
  3. If a Fixture is docked with the handler, unlatch the Fixture from the tester. (See steps in Figure 1, Cassini Reference Guide | CH 1: System Information | Fixtures, To Dock a Fixture or Diagnostic Plate... on pg 90)
  4. Choose User Apps and select the appropriate entry on the list.
    (Optional) A Barcode scanner or keyboard can be used to filter the list by first clicking in the field and scanning or typing the start of the target entry.
  5. Allow the Cassini application to start, the startup to be completed and the Exec to load.
  6. Once a Alarm prompt with "There was a problem compiling the tesplan" and red text "Missing Instrument Fixture" appears along with other details in the Log window, choose OK. This is expected because Fixture and DIB have not been added to the config during the startup process.
  7. Dock the Fixture to the Tester. (See steps in Figure 1)
  8. Choose System > Check from the Cassini app to add the Fixture (and DIB) to the configuration.
  9. Choose the yellow Continue button on the Exec to compile. (See Operator Guide Poster)
  10. Enter (or Barcode Scan) required Lot information in the Exec and choose Start to proceed testing DUTs.
  11. Monitor the lot and resolve any Alarm prompts that may appear. If the handler/prober has issues, press Pause button in the exec to avoid communication errors and timeouts. Choose Resume or Force Test to proceed testing.
  12. When the lot completes and there are no more DUTs to test, choose Stop.
  13. Complete any lot summary analysis (compare bin results) and wait for the CPU graph to return to 0-10% for at least 10 seconds before closing the Cassini application and choosing OK to confirm. For large lots, this may take several minutes.
  14. Unlatch the Fixture to prepare for the next User App or Short Cut to be launched. (See Figure 1)
  15. Choose System > Logoff to prevent unauthorized use.
