Allows Serial communications with Serial Handler (configuration is required, new driver may be necessary). Includes RIFL 2 to RIFL 3 cable (RI Part # GGFEH22B) but NOT Serial cable (supplied by customer).
Serial or Parallel generally have the most reliable and fastest interface to handlers versus GPIB and therefore recommended by RI over GPIB interface.
This interface uses custom cables, similar to Parallel. However, the drivers are sometimes more complicated to develop compared with parallel but may offer more features.
